Business Development Manager – GlobalWebIndex – Salary up to £40K basic / OTE £80K+
Entrepreneurial, self-starting and highly rewarding role to deliver new business growth of the GlobalWebIndex, a unique strategic planning tool aimed at agencies and marketers from around the world
Few Facts About GlobalWebIndex (GWI)
- It’s a web based strategic planning tool which measures and tracks social media involvement, web usage, digital motivations, and the role for brands in the online world
- The GlobalWebIndex is being used by forward thinking agencies, corporates, and web companies across the globe to drive a unique understanding of their target audiences’ digital life and involvement in social media, develop leading edge digital ideas and to deliver exceptional global, regional or local communications strategy
- It is based on regular market research results from 18 markets and a 50,000+ consumer surveys
- It is global which means a huge appeal to a wide range of client base, ranging from European, International, or local agencies and corporates!
- Since launch it has already recruited over 30 clients, primarily via subscription, ranging from technology brands to PR, digital, media agencies. Example clients are: Microsoft, Nokia, Dell, Zenith Optimedia, Mediaedge:CIA, WPP group, EuroRSCG, Ogilvy, DDB, TNS, Millward Brown and many more.
- Over the next two years the GlobalWebIndex is aiming to grow to 150+ subscription clients
Few Facts About The Role
- This role represents a highly rewarding opportunity for a mid-level research / media /digital focused business development executive to quickly build a substantial client base, participate in the business growth strategy and generate significant personal reward from a fast growing product.
- Profit target will have to be met by generating new leads and closing existing opportunities in 1 of 3 specific business verticals’ including creative and PR agencies, 0nline and social media agencies and corporate clients.
- Hard-core selling is against the agency’s working ethics. We project thought leadership via demonstrating the quality of the product and the outputs. We are focusing in establishing good client relationship and partnerships and any business development skills and techniques will have to be adjusted accordingly.
Experience and qualities needed
- Minimum 4 years of digital / market-research / business information /online subscription sales and business development experience
- Strategic mindset and experience. Experience in applying data and services to client business objectives and needs
- Strong knowledge of the web, social media, and marketing communications at an international level
- Extensive marketing and media contacts
- Excellent interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial spirit
Day to day tasks
- Relationship management with new and existing clients
- Work with the analyst to prepare new business and client presentations
- Building contact with key sales targets
- New client administration eg invoicing, contracts payment
- Represent agency in networking opportunities e.g. events and client entertaining
- Utilising offline as well as digital social networks to establish agency profile and contacts
Salary & Bonus
- Up to £40K + commission. Realistic £80k+ OTE (uncapped) (OTE based on 1 sale per month of the most basic subscription option).
- Referral commission if initial sale creates cross-sell opportunities in other geographic regions or offices
- Scaling fee on 12 month periods
Analysts, Full and part time: Global Web Index and bespoke projects
Experienced data insight analysts are needed to turn our data into stories and provide clients with an understanding of trends and data. This individual must have an exceptional knowledge of web, technology and social media, plus know what output agencies and marketing professionals look for. Analysts will also be responsible for managing and delivering ad hoc client projects and producing written content and analysis for a number of our products
